Skogáfoss, Vík, and Reynisfjara

(A soccer field backed by a several hundred foot tall waterfall - well, throw in a tropical beach and you pretty much have heaven for me.)

(Skogáfoss - one of the most popular waterfalls in Iceland. Don't worry, there will be many more photos of this later.)

(Farms. Grass. Sky. Iceland.)

(The road on the way to the coastal town of Vík. Vík means 'bay', so Reykjavík means Reykja Bay. Oh, and Reykja means 'smoke'.)

(A patch of flowers along a dirt road to a farmer's house. I thought I saw a waterfall down the road, but this turned out to be just as good.)

(The flowers again. Same place except I'm taking the picture. Get it?)

(A tiny church 'kirkja' on the way to the coast.)

(A group of hexagonal basalt columns that are said to be trolls that were coming to attack the church but were then frozen by the sunlight.)

(Reynisfjara again. To get a sense of scale, the formation of basalt columns on the bottom righthand side is probably over 100 feet tall. Fun for climbing.)
